LBMFT was founded in 2026 by members of the Bangladeshi Muslim community in Luton, driven by a simple but powerful belief: that no family should face the pain of bereavement burdened by financial worry.
Drawing on the Islamic principle of mutual aid — ta'awun — our founders created a community trust where collective contributions provide a financial safety net for every member family. When a member passes away, the Trust steps in so the family can focus entirely on grief and remembrance, not on costs.
We are proudly volunteer-led and community-governed, rooted in Bury Park, Luton — home to one of the largest Bangladeshi communities outside Bangladesh. Our work is guided by our three founding values: Service, Compassion, and Dignity.
To provide comprehensive funeral support services to the Bangladeshi Muslim community in Luton, ensuring every family receives compassionate assistance and financial support during bereavement, while upholding Islamic values and traditions.

We provide financial support from our collective fund to help cover funeral and burial costs, reducing the financial strain on grieving families.
Where possible, we may assist families with repatriation enquiries, subject to committee approval and available funds.
We assist families with all necessary paperwork, including death certificates, burial permits, and other administrative requirements.
Our volunteers provide guidance on all aspects of Islamic funeral rites, including ghusl (washing), kafan (shrouding), janazah (prayer), and burial.

Membership is open primarily to the Bangladeshi Muslim community in Luton. Other Muslim residents of Luton and surrounding areas may also apply, subject to committee approval.
